Get active by enjoying local waterways
Life can be busy and complicated and we’re not always able to make the time to get active and look after our bodies and minds.
The Canal and River Trust want to help everybody get active and have teamed up with Sport England to create the Active Waterways Cheshire Project.
The project encourages people to get more active while enjoying the beauty of local waterways.
Active Waterways Cheshire is a free, 12 week programme for an hour a week.
The walks are aimed at over 55s, suitable for people of all abilities and all routes are easily accessible for everyone and are wheelchair and walking aid friendly. Carers and friends are also welcome.
All groups have a maximum of five walkers and one walk leader and everyone will be keeping a safe distance.
There is also have an online programme for those who aren’t comfortable being part of a group or ready to get out and about just yet.
