Celebrating older volunteers

Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) is celebrating older volunteers during October as part of its Year of Volunteering campaign.

The campaign, which CWVA is running with Cheshire West and Chester Council, was recently relaunched with a different theme each month.

As October is Older Volunteering Month, CWVA, the Council and Age-friendly Cheshire West will be looking at how older residents are making a difference by supporting their communities, as well as what volunteering means to them.

Volunteer Awards Month

You can send in your nominations for Volunteer Awards Month, which will round off the celebration of volunteers in December.

Volunteers have always played a vital role in society, but they have been in the spotlight more than ever for their support for communities during the coronavirus pandemic.
Volunteer Awards Month is a fantastic way to recognise volunteers for all the great work they do.

There are different categories, including Older Volunteer of the Year, which is awarded to any volunteer aged over 60 who may have shown commitment and enthusiasm to their volunteering role by sharing their skills.
